Cullman Electric Cooperative College Scholarship

Helping today’s students achieve their academic goals is a great investment in the future. Cullman Electric Cooperative’s Scholarship Program provides $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors in our service area who are dedicated to making a difference in the world around them. 

The application must be completed and turned in to Cullman EC along with official transcripts, activity list, essay and recommendation letters by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023. This application is now closed for 2023.

Scholarship Requirements

  • The scholarship will be awarded based on evaluation of the following criteria you must submit to qualify:
  • 1. Official Transcripts / GPA (35 pts.) Official transcripts only — must be signed by counselor. Please have counselor send these to: Scholarship Committee c/o Cullman Electric Cooperative P.O. Box 1168 Cullman, AL 35056

3. Essay (15 pts.)
Include honors/awards, community service and school activities as well as years of involvement and any position held for each. In 200 words or less, describe your career goals and reason for choosing field or profession. Must be typed, double spaced, 12 point font.

4. Two Letters of Recommendation (15 pts.) 
One letter from a teacher, current or former, and one letter from a person in the community who is not a relative. Letters of recommendation should be sent to:

Deadline 
The application above must be filled out completely and turned in to Cullman EC along with official transcripts, activity list, essay and recommendation letters by 4 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023. Dependants of CEC Board Members and employees are ineligible. The Valedictorian and Salutatorian are also ineligible to participate in the cooperative scholarship program.

2022 Electric Cooperative Foundation Scholarship

THIS IS A DIFFERENT SCHOLARSHIP THAN THE CULLMAN ELECTRIC SCHOLARSHIP. All high school seniors in our area can apply for the 2023 Electric Cooperative Foundation Scholarship. One student from the Cullman Electric Cooperative service area will be chosen by the Alabama Rural Electric Association scholarship committee. The application and all required documents must be received in Montgomery by the Scholarship Deadline on February 17, 2023, by 5 PM.
